Curved Partition Fence Topper
Curved Partition Fence Topper
When a tool manufacturer and fence pro builds a project in their own backyard, you know every detail is going to be amazing. That’s exactly what happened when our friend Evan, owner of WingTools, set out to partition his yard.
He didn't just build a fence; he engineered a sweeping, curved horizontal board-on-board foundation, with a custom louvered topper using our fixed EZ Louver brackets.
Tricks of the Trade
Evan started with a vision. He knew exactly what he wanted to build. Now Evan isn't your run of the mill DIY guy. He knows fencing and particularly no-dig fencing inside and out. He designs and engineers tools for the industry. Check out his website at: https://www.gardnerfences.com/company/wing-tools/
His first step was to set the PostMaster posts using a "Rhino XA with slotted barrel and 4' extension handles" to drive the posts straight into the ground. He had to make sure the posts were level, which comes naturally to him. For any DIYers, know that this is a critical step.

Want to replicate Evan’s flawless finish? Here is the playbook he followed next:
-
Align the Tops: Double check that all posts are perfectly level and completely flush or even at the top.
-
Anchor the Top Trim: Attach a horizontal trim board at the very top. This locks the structure tight and helps the rest of the installation go smoothly.
-
Install the EZ Louver Brackets: Mount to each side of the post, butting them flush against the trim board while ensuring everything stays level from section to section.
-
Custom Cut the Slats: Measure twice and cut the slats to span your project’s unique dimensions.
-
Lock in the Structure: Fasten the slats to the brackets for additional stability.
Install the Board on Board Base

With the custom louver topper framework set, it was time to build out the foundation. Evan chose a classic board-on-board style, which is perfect for a curved layout because the overlapping pickets create a seamless look without any awkward gaps.
Final Touches
To finish off the project, Evan added the final aesthetic details to bring the whole look together.
- Conceal the Posts: He wrapped the steel PostMasters and bracket edges with clean trim boards for a seamless, all-wood look.
- Illuminate the Space: He topped it all off with integrated lighting features to make the outdoor area pop after dark.
Materials Used:
- 5 PostMaster Posts
- Pre-stained Chestnut Gopher Wood dog-eared pickets
- 5 pair of EZ Louver brackets
